Actually, Feb 5 wasn’t the cause, but merely a very undeniable reflection that things are not well within the ranks of the GOP. The following reasons point clearly towards that conclusion:
- A Left-leaning Party “Maverick” with, ironically, zero cross-over appeal is now the likely Republican nominee
- A Hawk’s Hawk
- Negative Economic Credentials
- Washington Insider
- Viewed by many as a habitual, Ideological Traitor
- A Victor of a battle of Attrition
- The feared GOP Media have undermined their own Influence with their own Arrogance
- The Christian wing of the party is flying solo
- Blowback: The Martyrdom of the pre-Apocalyptic Prophet, Ron Paul
That enough for ya?
The good news is…8 years ago, it was John McCain who was by-passed by his party for the anointment of the boy-prince, George W., who was head and shoulders the worst debater on the GOP stage. McCain didn’t quit. He started forming alliances and mapping out a strategy that didn’t depend upon the Republican Machine to make it happen for him. Now look at him…the clear frontrunner in a battle of attrition. He stands where he stands, not because he garnered the support with his ideological acumen, but because of his determination…because Rudy and Fred fell flat, even though the GOP Media didn’t get the memo that they had exhausted their own credibility with their boorish, disrespectful, sycofanatical behavior. Rush used to be Right…now, he’s just inescapable. Turn the dial, there he is, just like all the other Clear Channel Commandos, who march in lock-step to the Neo-Conservative Mantra, cutting-off and ridiculing all callers whose input doesn’t mirror their own in its juvenile, cliquish fashion.
At least McCain actually “won” a few of those debates. That is, he had some Moments. He showed some Presence. Of course, though Huck won one, and Romney looked good, most of the time, Ron Paul won most of them…even though the moderators barely asked him any questions. Even though the hyenas conspired against him, and mocked him, not knowing how else to respond when being schooled by a superior statesman with a principled and evolved mastery of Economic and Constitutional Policy. Such children, the mouthpieces of Democracy made themselves out to be most recently!
Oh, Liberty! We must water the tree!
